Ethics in SAAM

Our adopted approach on ethics is to constantly monitor and discuss within the Consortium what the ethics issues and considerations are. Ethics is also continuously discussed with EAB members. Ethics risks are also managed externally through submission of applications for ethical clearance at the national level, where applicable. With each initial contact and before any activity with research subjects starts, an informed consent should be obtained from volunteers, based on project information with well explained research goals, privacy and confidentiality and rights to withdraw at any time. All methods, involving research subjects will undergo scrutiny from pilot partners Ethics boards, as well as from the Slovenian NationalMedical Ethics Committee.
